I produce commercial photography and short films for businesses, organisations and schools for use in their marketing campaigns. I shoot both stills and video, and can produce content suitable for your website, Instagram and Facebook, as well as your print media needs. If you've got a message you need to communicate to your audience, I can create the visual storytelling content to change hearts and minds. It's a buzz to create photos and videos that you're audience will love and respond to, each shoot is an exciting new challenge.
My other passion is Documentary Family Photography, which are unposed photo sessions, creating a body of photographs that truly speak of who your family is. This is not Pinterest-perfect imagery, but capturing moments that are a unique description on your family.
I live in Perth, Western Australia, where I was born and raised. I have a lovely husband and a little adorable son, both of which are my muses. I like life to be fairly simple and quiet, and to slow down and appreciate this special family time we have. I love stories, and since having a little family of my own I deeply appreciate how special family is. It is always an honour to be invited into peoples homes and lives to document their love.
Awards & Credentials
I went to University and completed a Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies), 2003. I then spent a career working on TV documentary (under my maiden name Janine Boreland), as well working in community media projects training hundreds of people in media workshops, and in 2011 I was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship allowing me to travel the world upskilling in storytelling and filmmaking – all seeking out the magic and connection in personal stories. I launched and managed a travelling roadshow of filmmaking workshops and screenings called the Making Movies Roadshow, which allowed many WA filmmakers to travel and train people in storytelling all over the state. I've produced and directed documentary for ABC and SBS, as well as working in production houses on factual TV series like the SBS series 'Who Do You Think You Are?'. I also worked for ABC Open, the ABC's multi-platform community engagement program as a Producer.
